Greetings! We welcome you to the church family at the Church of
the Intercession. As you peruse the pages of this site, we think
you will gain some flavor of what a friendly and loving church we are.
We invite you to become active in the life of our congregation. The
Church of the Intercession was founded in 1852 by Albert G. Ellis; the
present building was completed in 1894. Our life together is
centered upon biblical preaching, teaching and fellowship and in
sacramental worship. Worship at Intercession is reverent and
traditional, rich in liturgy, prayer and music. At Intercession
you will find a wealth of programs and activities for all ages.
We have a great commitment to our children and youth, to education,
and to mission and outreach. Jesus said, "Let the little
children come to me," and we strive to make Him known to our young
people. We have a wonderful Sunday school program, a great
facility, gifted and loving teachers, and a commitment to your child's
safety and spiritual growth. Our youth group meets weekly with
our dedicated youth ministry team for fellowship, games and Bible
study. We have an active outreach ministry to the disadvantaged
in the area.
For adults, there are many opportunities to encounter Christ
through worship, study and service. This site describes some of
the ways we grow together as the family of God.
