Intercession has a
passion for outreach. The parish is active in supporting many
local charities, sponsors local outreach projects, and is active in
annual mission trips. (The photos below are from our
mission trip to Katrina-ravaged New Orleans). The Intercession Mission and Outreach Committee meets
monthly to review needs in the community and disburse contributions to
various ministries. For information on Mission and Outreach, please
contact Don Willemarck or Sue Suehring.
Recently, Intercession has donated to the following organizations:
Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers. Alternative High School, Operation Bootstra p,
Episcopal Relief and Development, United Thank Offering, Salvation Army, Humane Society, Haiti Project, Food Baskets, Christmas Family, The Free Church of the Annunciation, New Orleans
(Katrina relief), and others. Our parish serves dinner every
Friday night to hungry people at the Salvation Army Hope Center.
HELP THE VILLAGES IN KENYA
Please order a hand-beaded lanyard
to wear your Intercession name tag on for $10.00. All money received
for these lanyards will go to help those in need. Add your name and
quantity to the order sheet in the Parish Hall. Thank you so much for
helping those in need.

FOOD BASKET --
Bring non-perishable food donations each Sunday, place in the
basket in rear of church: they will go to the Crisis Center. Your
donations make a big difference to needy families.
FOR THE SOLDIERS --
Tightly packed cookies (no chocolate coatings), i.e. peanut butter
sandwich, Oreos or pecan sandies, Gatorade powder in plastic cans,
Nutella or similar sweet spread in plastic jars, beige cotton socks,
Gold Bond foot powder, outdoor or car magazines, packages of wrapped
hard candies, batteries, nuts and dried fruit packages are still
needed.
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS --
It is vital we keep our lovely, historic facility in excellent
condition. Would you like to help out with this important ministry? It
involves periodic maintenance, plumbing, painting and small building
projects. If you are interested, please contact Wes Halverson.
HIGHWAY CLEAN-UP --
Highway clean-up is held two times a year, in the spring and fall. We
take care of a section of Hwy. 51/39, just off of Hwy. 66. If you are
interested in joining the fun, contact Bruce Rathe. |
