Adult Programs

There are many opportunities for Christian education and Bible study at Intercession.  We encourage you to come and join in any of our classes!  It is not necessary to know anything about the Bible to benefit from any of our classes!

Fellowship- Come after the Sunday service for fellowship with other adults.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study - Come join Rev. Sue Clark for an informal study through various books of the Bible, with many applications to our lives.  Every other Tuesday in the Music Room at 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday Evening Adult Education - How about exploring fascinating topics right after a delicious potluck supper?  Yes, it's a great way to end the day!  We have different study series throughout the year.  Most Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Education for Ministry (EfM) - EfM is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once a week, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing Education Units for each year's work. Deacon Mary is the mentor; please contact her for more information. Scholarships are available.

Explorer's Class - An interesting tour through the history, beliefs and practices of the Episcopal Church.  Taught each year before Confirmation.  For new members and long time members looking for a refresher on the essentials of our faith.  A multi-part series on Sunday evenings before Confirmation.

Quiet Days - Take the time out during these holy seasons for a Saturday Morning time in the church for reflection, silence, music and meditation.  Special Saturday programs during Lent and Advent.

Special Classes - Intercession host special seminars and classes, featuring a variety of guest speakers, periodically throughout the year.

Cursillo - Cursillo ("a short course in Christianity") is a Christian Renewal movement that begins with a three-day weekend in the Diocese.  If you are interested in deepening your faith and getting to know others in the Diocese, contact the Rector or Deacon about signing up for Cursillo.  A three-day weekend at a retreat center in the Diocese in November of each year.
