There are many opportunities for Christian
education and Bible study at Intercession. We encourage you to
come and join in any of our classes! It is not necessary to know
anything about the Bible to benefit from any of our classes!
Rector's Forum - Come after the Sunday service for a great forum
on biblical and other Christian topics.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
- Come join Rev. Sue Clark for an
informal study through various books of the Bible, with many
applications to our lives.

Wednesday Evening Adult Education - How about exploring
fascinating topics right after a delicious potluck supper? Yes,
it's a great way to end the day! We have different study series
throughout the year. Most Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. in the
Parish Hall.
Education for Ministry (EfM)
- EfM is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the
School of Theology of the University of the South. Students sign up
one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the basics of
a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history,
liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once a week,
in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. The program grants
a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing
Education Units for each year's work. Deacon Mary is the mentor;
please contact her for more information. Scholarships are available.
Explorer's Class - An interesting tour
through the history, beliefs an d practices of the Episcopal Church.
Taught each year before Confirmation. For new members and long
time members looking for a refresher on the essentials of our faith.
A multi-part series
on Sunday evenings before Confirmation.
Quiet Days - Take the time out during these holy seasons for a
Saturday Morning time in the church for reflection, silence, music and
meditation.
Special Saturday programs during Lent and Advent.
Special Classes - Intercession host special seminars and
classes, featuring a variety of guest speakers, periodically
throughout the year.
Cursillo - Cursillo ("a
short course in Christianity") is a Christian Renewal movement that
begins with a three-day weekend in the Diocese. If you are
interested in deepening your faith and getting to know others in the
Diocese, contact the Rector or Deacon about signing up for Cursillo.
A three-day weekend at a retreat center in the Diocese in November
of each year. |
