Altar Guild
The Intercession Altar Guild is a ministry of prayer and preparation
of the altar for each service, as well as providing suitable
furnishings, appropriate linens and decorations of the altar. It
meets on many Saturday mornings. If you are interested in
joining this wonderful ministry of preparing the church for worship,
contact the head of the Altar Guild, Dick Manthe. New members
are welcome!
Acolytes and Crucifers
The Acolytes are a group of young people and adults who serve God
in sacred service at God's Altar. It is a blessed ministry to
serve God during the worship services. Training is required.
They serve as torch bearers and crucifers, and are scheduled on a
monthly basis. For information on Acolytes, please contact Bob
Suehring, the Sacristan.
Lay Readers and Chalice Bearers
Lay Readers are young people and adults who serve God by reading
the first and second lessons, and leading the Psalm, for the week from
the lectern during Sunday services; training is given in public
reading and the use of the Lectionary as needed. Chalice Bearers
are licenses by the Bishop of the Diocese and trained to administer
the chalice at the time of Holy Communion. These ministries are
open to persons who have served in other capacities in the church for
some time. It is a blessed ministry to serve God during the
worship services. Training is required. For information on
LR/LEM, please contact Bob Suehring or the clergy.
Ushers
The ministry of the ushers consists of helping parishioners find
seats, assisting the handicapped, bringing the offerings to the altar
and helping negotiate the steps of the chancel during Communion.
