Christmas Dinner at Intercession

December 25, Noon, in the Parish Hall

Join Fr. Jim and Deacon Mary in welcoming our community for an old fashioned Christmas dinner.  Please sign up if you can attend, and to help with set-up or clean-up; and/or to bring and help prepare food.  Invite your friends to join you.  This will be a time of great food, fellowship and Christmas fun, and an important outreach to the community!

There will be NO Youth Group, potluck, or bible study on Wednesday, December 24th (Christmas Eve).

Call for Nominations

Vestry, Wardens, and Convention Delegates

At our annual meeting on January 25th, we will elect new Senior and Junior Wardens (for one year terms), TWO vestry members (for 3 year terms) and FOUR delegates to Diocesan Convention.  Nominations may be made using the forms in the Parish Hall.  Please pray about who you might be called to nominate.  These are important leadership positions in the Church.  Please consult the recent Intercession News (p.8) for qualifications for Vestry & Warden positions.  You may nominate yourself.

Holiday Food Basket:  The holidays are just around the corner and Operation Bootstrap is in full swing helping families in Portage County have a joyous Holiday.  As we have done in years past, The Church of The Intercession will participate in this program by sponsoring a family of 4-5 members.  The family will receive a basket of food worth approximately $75.  In addition, the Outreach committee has agreed to sponsor a local war veteran's family with the same holiday spirit.

Giving Tree: The Giving Tree is located in the parish.  Children of the families receiving holiday food baskets will also receive gifts in the $25 range.  First names of these children along with their wish lists will be placed in cards and hung on the Giving Tree for your selection and purchase.  Donations can be deposited in the Christmas wrapped box titled, 'Holiday Food Basket / Giving Tree' in the parish hall.  Checks should be made payable to the Church of the Intercession.  Please help spread the joy and love this holiday by supporting these very worthwhile causes.

Ongoing Youth Group Fundraisers: The youth group continues to sell handmade greeting cards for 50 cents each to support mission projects. Please leave your payment in the church office. We will also recycle your used cell phones and ink cartridges.

Food Basket: Need knows no season, and not having enough food to donate to the Crisis Center is always a concern so please bring non-perishable food donations each Sunday, place in the basket in rear of church. Your donations make a difference to needy families. If you have questions on what to bring please contact me, Kathy Orlikowski.

For the Soldiers:  PLEASE NEW & UNOPENED ITEMS ONLY! Tightly packed cookies (no chocolate coatings), Gatorade powder, Nutella or similar sweet spread in plastic jars, beige cotton socks, Gold Bond foot powder, current - outdoor or car magazines, wrapped hard candies,  batteries, nuts and dried fruit packages are still needed. Please give your items to Jane Dreier.
